How much do highland cattle cost?

I'm interested in raising highland cattle but I can't find how much they cost. An estimate would be great. All the sites I find for information on the breed are copy and pasted from eachother with complete plagiarism! I have a small homestead and would just like to raise a bull, a cow for milk -and to sell the calves. I am looking to raise them from calves, not buy full-grown. (For bonding reasons.) Please be respectful and do not answer if you don't know!

  2. scotch highland cattle are still not very common in the US and usually are more expensive that say, an angus or hereford. prices really depend on age, s*x, and quality of the individual. it's hard to give you a price quote without knowing exactly what you're looking for far as quality. here is a link to a classified site that is run by the highland cattle association of america. there are several breeder links that all have cows of all ages and sexes for sale. be aware though that a highland cow is not a great milker... these cattle are generally raised for meat. if you want dual purpose cattle that are better than average meat and milk cows i'd look into getting shorthorns. here's the highland classified link:
