Assuming a hunter was selling his catches, which (legal) game animals would sell for the most cash? Also, how much can they make after about a month of hunting?

  1. some states offer bounties on coyotes, but other than that there's no money in it

  2. Selling game is illegal in most states.  You can give game meat away or donate it to non profit places.  Hunters for the most part spend money.  If I figured out how much my big game meat cost me per pound I would most likely have a heart attack.

  3. Hunters don't make squat all we do is pay to have fun i guess you could say that when it comes to all of us Game Meat Hunters were on the WELFARE SYSTEM !

  4. In most all, if not all, states, selling game meat is illegal.  Even if it were legal to sell it, all you have to do is to figure out how much you would need to charge per pound and you would see that there would be no money to be made selling game meat.  If you want to sell game meat, you can get a permit to breed and raise game animals for the meat.  I have no idea how much a permit costs but I do know that the requirements for raising game animlas are pretty strict.

  5. Well in my home state of Florida it is illegal to sell game.

  6. Selling your game is illegal.

Hunters dont make money, unless they sell the pelts or mounts. Which already cost them from the taxidermist, or if they do it themselves...the cost of supplies.

  7. In Mississippi Trappers are allowed to sell pelts and meat of certain animals during open seasons. In MS Bobcats bring the most Money at present.

  8. You can make money being a hunting guide, but NOT by selling meat, hides, horns, gall bladders, teeth. horns, etc.

Being a hunting guide would be a blast in my opinion but is hard work, and is seasonal in nature.

This is an approach you might want to research.

My brother is a fishing guide in Southern Oregon and he's not getting rich, but he's happier than h**l and he doesnt sit at a desk all day like I do.

  9. As far as I know the only commercial hunting in North America is the seal hunt in Canada.  Those guys don't make very much, most of them are also commercial fishermen.  There are trappers too.  They don't get rich,  I supspect most of them have other jobs the rest of the year.

  10. As already mentioned selling wild game animals is contrary to lawful activity.

As a trapper, I trap animals with the express intent of selling the hides and certain body parts (Beaver has Castor glands used in making perfume). In Maine the trapper is State Certified and licensed to trap and sell hides.

  11. It's illegal to sell any wild game meats or hides.
