You pay a fee to list an item, which is on a sliding scale depending on the starting price of the item, then you pay a Final Value Fee on the selling price of the item. You really need to visit the Ebay site of your own country as each site has a different scale of fees.

Yes, you still pay the listing fee if your item doesn't sell, but if you relist it and it sells the second time, you get the second listing fee back.

Most Ebay sites also now require that you offer Paypal as a payment method, and they charge a separate fee (to Ebay) on the transaction, which is for the whole payment amount - ie, item price plus postage/shipping.
