How much do i need to make to live in seattle?

I just need a one bedroom apartment. i would prefer to live in the city. was just wondering how much i need to make an hour or year to live comfurtable. please help

You'd need to really define just a little more about what you consider "comfortable".  That $36k answer would def let you live comfortably, but I think you could get by with less, depending on how luxuriously you want to live (but on the flipside, maybe more).  I'd say you could probably find a small one bedroom or at least a decent studio for around $700 that you'd be happy with, but that's on the low end of the rental scale, so it'd be a good find and you'll see many more that cost more than that when you're searching.  Food costs have been on the rise, so that's one other issue.  Do you have a car/are you planning on having a car in the city?  Having a bike and using it in conjunction with public transit (Metro/Sound Transit/Community Transit) would be a much more affordable and environmentally friendly way to go!

a lot of my friends that live downtown.. actually IN seattle pay anywhere from 1200-1800 for one bedroom apartments. and a couple of them actually have to pay for parking since they are literally in the city parking is very sparse. i don't know the exact price a month they pay to park, but from what i've heard can be quite pricy.

on the other hand, if you're willing to move towards the outskirts of the city such as northgate or even moving to one of the nearby suburbs like shoreline or kirkland you can probably look at paying more around 900 a month and parking i dont think is even an issue because most of the apartments in the suburbs or outskirts are larger complexes that actually have their own large parking lots.
