How much do i pay a 17 yr old to watch my 8 & 9 yr old boys?

daycares charge 85 per child per wk here. this girl would have to do nothing but make sure they are ok and if they need help with lunch help them make it.she can watch as much tv, video games, compyter all available to her and all food she wants.

Well, I would say that you should pay her 5 bucks an hour. If you payed her 10 bucks an hour that would be 80 bucks a day. And that is way too high.  that would only be 45 bucks a day. i dunno though

I'd say a fair wage is $5/hr seeing that regular nannies charge much more than that

just think...are the kids a huge handful?would she need to fight for them to do homework,take a bath eat there dinner? i would say about 5-8 dollars and hour

it really depends on how many hours per day she would be watching the boys. Probably somewhere around 60$ a week.

That is a lot of hours for a 17 year old, but since the kids are a little older, I would give about 150 a week.  You're saving a little bit in day care, but that girl can get a min. wage job and make about 250 a week for 40 hours.  Hopefully, she won't realize that...

Thats about 2.50 an hour but if you tell her by the hour it sounds stingy, where as 100 dollars a week would be great for a 17yo.

8 dollars an hour sounds fair.  If you need additional chores such as laundry, dishes, dusting or bathrooms cleaned, I'd pay her 10/hr.
