  1. It depends on how into the game you are. If you're really serious about playing, all this may be right for you. It is for me. I spend my whole summers doing this:

Running will help get you ready but is not that important. If you are trying out for a team & your coach is making you run, run that amount (or more) every couple days up to tryouts.

You also should go to vb camps or something to freshen your skills before season. If you can't attend a camp, you can practice with someone outside, set/ pass against a wall, and stuff like that.

Also, work on your jumping ablilities. If you have a wall, do 100 block jumps a day (or every other).

You can also jump rope for 30 min each day (every other is fine too).

You could also do situps and pushups every other day too.

You can do wall-sits every day to help condition your legs.

MAKE SURE YOU DRINK A LOT OF WATER!!!!! You don't want to get dehydrated (I did that and I regret not drinking enough- I got shin-splints).

    GOOD LUCK!!

  2. do not do long distances, i have a full workout book for volleyball, my coach gives us weekly workouts for the whole summer, email me and ill send you copies! its all sprints and bleechers and agilities... they just do basic leg buliding things...run sprints 3 days a week and weights 2days..start off with the same easy weight then as weeks go on add 15 lbs and really push yourself. do swimming pool workouts too, i have copies of those too if you need them!...i made varsity volleyball my sophomore year, bc i have a 26" vertical and im only 5'4"..im a libero

  3. Running will help but practice techniques and try to score as much points knowing things with out being a show off like volleying and spiking also be able to jump good heights run at least twice a day for short times like 15 minutes at a time or slower if your fat no offense!

  4. run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump and run and jump

  5. just start off slow and each day run a little more

dont skip a day cuz if you do you'll just keep on stalling

when ur running never stop even when your tired

    just jog really slow

    after running dont sit down

you'll slow down your hear rate a lot and it 'll stop the blood circulation

if your legs get itchy thats good

it helps if you wear cotton pants

  6. NOT VERY MUCH, BUT YOU DO HAVE TO WORK ON YOUR LEGS FOR BETTER JUMPS.

  7. running is less needy than jumping.  Find a basketball hoop.  Hang something off it to the 9 ft level(unless you are already jumping to 10 ft)  Jump and touch the object 40 to 50 times in ! half hour, then go jogging for 1/2 hr, then do it again.  What you are trying to do is build within your muscles the ability to do Aerobic work, and have developed a big(Big) anaerobic capacity.  When you play volleyball, most of the work is quite explosive, and exceeds your aerobic capacity.  However, you need a great aerobic uptake ability to recover after long rallys.  Talk to your coach, but work out on your own as I have described.  I am 5'7" and have played USVBA for 40 yrs.  Can't do it much longer.  It is a young person's game(as in 30 to 40), or younger.

    Good luck.

  8. Run is mental tuffness. Nothing more. If you can run the distance you can win the 5th game.  Mental tuffness wins matches.

  9. running well help some, but it is more important to get practicing volleyball for getting ready for the volleyball season, if you catch my drift. a really good way to start running though, is run up and down ur street once a day, then 2 times, the 3 and so on. good luck!

  10. my coach says always to run a mile a day! To be in good shape!then do squats to get ur legs really srtong how u do them is u get up against a wall and and get ur legs even with ur shoulders then hold it for 2 min's do 5 sets of those! Then make it a habit when ur in ur house just jump all day u will look crazy but it works so just jump all day u will get better and u will look good! Good luck!
