How much do interperter for the deaf make in nc?

Hi

My son is hearing inpaired so I have an inerest in working as an interpeter for the deaf( expecially children) My question I was wondering what the education requiremets, salary, and demand would be for someone in N.C.

  1. There is a national assocaition of interpreters. http://www.rid.org/ They would have more information. I have looked into it myself because I too am fluent in ASL. Not because anyone in my family is deaf, just because I have had an interest in it since I was little.


  2. hi i am deaf and 14year old.... it true... i swear. when someone  is talk then u sign everyday her/his talk..it good jobs if you are interperter it you will get lot of money.

  3. In the schools, they make the same amount as a teacher assistant.  You should look into certification through one of the community colleges that offer it.
