  1. before you get one be sure you know how to take care of a regular horse. I have had countless people get them and KILL them or have them injured and taken away and I end up with them. So unless you know, don't get it.

Theyt cost about as much as a regular pony. If you are experienced, then keeping it on your property is cheapest. But your grain bill, hay and pasture manangement, tack, supplies, farrier, vet etc. will all pretty much cost the same.

Breaking it down every mini I have had as cost $2,000-$5,000 a year.  Mini also come with a slew of health problems so be ware! if you get one get one that is good.

  2. Anywhere from free to thousands of dollars, can you be more specific?  Sometimes, people get them as a fad, then just want rid of them, some people buy them, pay thousands for them and show them, hire trainers, etc.  So, it totally depends on if they are registered, have a show record, sire good babies or just eat.  You can usually find pet quality minis for $300 to $600.

  3. the ones at my barn re 800

  4. go on the internet... it depends... it varies... most of the time, they r about a few hundred..

  5. I have owned three miniatures. The first miniatures I ever owned were worth about $100-800 dollars, and they were NOT show quality. When we sold those two we got a third that was worth at least $3,000 and he is a prove winner of AMHA/AMHR shows. He was a yearling when he won his first show in a National class. His pedigree is full of Champion bloodlines.

Generally the miniatures bought as pets can range anywhere from $50-$1,000. If you are intersted in a mini to show they can be anywhere from $1,000-$7,500+ It all depends on pedigree, show winnings, and training. If you are looking for a good mini whether it is for a pet or show you can find them at www.dreamhorse.com.

  6. There is a family next to the barn that i ride at that sells miniature horses.  Their minis cost about $5000.  i don't know a lot about the breed though so i'm not sure if that is a good price or not.

  7. we got both of ours for 200 but they can get much higher...they can go from free to like 12,00 dollars yea expensive

  8. Free-$20,000. Most driving, middle-age minis are $500-$10,000.

  9. they used to cost up to over 100,000 dollars but know my granpa sells them for 200 and up

  10. agrees with first answer,

you could get one for free, you could pay thousands for breeding stock.

just because they're smaller doesnt mean they're going to cost less.

  11. anywhere from $100 to $1000

  12. pretty much the same as an average size horse.  farrier, vet, insurance, worming, jabs, livery, equipment all cost the same no matter what size.  your feed and hay bills will be less.
