Considering being a mounted police officer, not sure what their salary is or if you can make a good living off of it.

  1. The mounted unit is a subdivision of the police department.  So in most cases, you make the same money as a patrol officer.  Salaries vary between different departments and based on the local cost of living.  I'm reasonably well paid by my current employer whereas my last police job was weak salary wise even after adjusting for the local cost of living.  If you're willing to move, you're in good shape.

  2. Well they usually pay c**p here in the states. If your in Canada you must by your horse first.

  3. ok living

  4. Like any other position with the police it depends on the city that you are hired in. In the city of St Louis you have to work your way up to Mounted Police and you have to have a strong back ground in horsemanship. Most city officers start around $35,000 a year. You usually want to be in the field and not be doing it for money alone

  5. to much...
