If you deliver pizza for either Dominoes or Pizza Hut,

how much would an average guy make for hourly wages, tips and gas mileage?

  1. I worked at Pizza Hut last fall. I made $6 an hour. They also paid me $1 per delivery for mileage. I averaged around $8 - $9 an hour after paying for gas.

The Pizza Hut that I worked at was very poorly managed. The managers would only let drivers take one order at a time. This lead to longer delivery times, more late pizzas, lower tips, and higher fuel expense. On an average night I would take about 1 - 2 orders per hour. My average tip was $1 - $2, but I got stiffed a lot because most of my orders were late and some of them were free. On weekends you could make more money because you take more deliveries; around 3 an hour. The Pizza Hut that I worked at always placed priority on dining room orders so delivery pizzas got made last.  I also had to wash a TON of dishes, take orders, buss tables, fold boxes, etc.

I have since moved to Papa Johns. Everything about PJ's is better than Pizza Hut, and I make a lot more money then I did at Pizza Hut. I hope this helps.

  2. I did it years ago, and made minimum wage, plus tips of course (I got stiffed a lot), and then 50 cents per delivery for gas and wear and tear on the car.  I did it for a couple weeks before it wreaked havoc on my car.  The turning off and on all day really is not good for it.  People who worked with me had constant car troubles.  I'd say skip it if you're considering it.

I spent every penny I made to repair my car.

  3. I agree the $12-15 range is what you will average an hour...With the price of gas its not really worth it now....Plus the price of pizza is getting insane and the orders are going down...I worked for Papa Johns and Dominos for a few years...I finally got robbed two days before Thanksgiving a couple of years ago.....4 guys, 2 guns pressed to the back of my head....Just not worth it after that

  4. 650 an hr tips by30 maybe a night?

  5. Domino's Australia

In Sydney its $10.25-$14.50 per hour (store & experience varies hourly rate) and $1.70 per del.

Canberra $12 per hour plus $3 dels

Western Australia up to $18 per hour

Pizza Hut in Sydney $4 per Del

  6. only tips i think

  7. I dunno , but Pizza Hut drivers were given stock in the store, depending on how many deliveries they make---I dunno if they still do it, but they did.  Or was it Domino's...?  I dunno.

  8. Working out of a good store you could make an average of $12. to $15. / hr.  Maybe more but remember your buying all your gas and car Ins. premiums...Speeding tickets are yours alone too.

That average is composed of your hourly wage plus tips added together. And you will run your butt off till you get it down.

Those guys are not too safe either in some areas. They get robbed and killed every once in a while..

  9. Min. wage and mileage for gas, which in the end amounts to NOTHING, unless you get some great tips.
