  1. Minimum wage plus tips. In a crappy area, maybe an extra $2-3 an hour.  In a crappy area but staying busy, maybe minimum plus $7 an hour in tips. In a crappy area but a good night, maybe $12 an hour in tips.

I've only worked in a crappy area.

It's a fun job but I wouldn't recommend it as you expose yourself to developing gambling addiction. I think it runs fairly high within the casino worker population. Just my opinion.

The money sounds nice until you realize most of it goes right back to the casino and they end up working for free.

  2. It greatly depends on where your location is and if the casino you are working for has a lot of blackjack players(full tables). I have friends who work as dealers, and they make good money doing it. In our area the average income is around 28,000 and they make around 40,000 per year on average(low cost of living in my area, small town in the middle of nowhere), so it is above the average income but not dramatically. As for poker dealers, such as texas hold-em, they make less than the blackjack dealers. I would guess that those percentages are about the same everywhere-take the average income in your area, and add about 1/4 to be the income of a blackjack dealer.
