  1. The county/system you are working in should have 2 levels of sub pay: one for uncertified and one for certified (certified meaning a licensed, certified teacher)

My county pays $44.00 per day for uncertified and 88.00 for certified.  If you are subbing at a day care, you should ask for the day scale of an assistant.

  2. Depends on the school. Most very little. It is a good way to decide if you would like to work as a teacher at that school full time.

  3. some preschool/daycares here pay only 8/hr and if you're on fulltime, depending on your certifications can pay upto 10-12/hr.  But they really don't make much.

    (Florida)

  4. The minimum they can possibly pay is what they will pay you. Good luck!! being a floater is hard work. Basically you do all the grunt work.

  5. I don't know about your state but in Ontario, Canada you could make anywhere from $8.00-$20.00 an hour depending on where the preschool is located and what company it is.  The higher $20 pay range is usually only for preschool teachers in downtown Toronto.  Expect the average to be about $13-$15 and that's only if you have a full Early Childhood Education diploma.

  6. dont do it. you'll be hated

  7. i work in new jersey and used to be a floater, i made a little more than minimum wage, its not much and it kinda sucked because i never had my own class and didn't know students and parent too well, now i have my own class and i love it =] i know waht to expect everyday, try to be a permanent.

  8. Im making 18.96 and hour as a subtitude teacher for ABC Unified School District.
