  1. You will have to have a current prescription for lenses. Cost depends on what you get and where. The regular plastic lenses should be the cheapest.

  2. Exam, to $100

    Lenses, upward of $50

  3. It depends on your prescription, age, and what you want to add on to the lenses (like scratch coating, anti-reflective coating, transitions, tint, etc.).

If your prescription is low, I recommend getting standard plastic lens CR-39 (the cheapest lenses).

If your prescription is high ( > - 3.00/- 4.00), I recommend getting polycarbonate (2nd most expensive lens) or hi-index lenses (most expensive lenses because the lenses are thinner).

If your 18 years or younger, you are required to get at least polycarbonate lenses or better.  You can't get standard plastic lens.

The prices will increase if you want the ADD-ons that are mentioned above.

Prices vary depending on where you go.  Without vision insurance, it's quite expensive at private offices.  I recommend that you go to commercial settings like Lenscrafters, Site for Sore Eyes, Costco, Walmart, JcPenney's, Sears, etc.
