How much do primary care doctors make a year?

and what are the fields that you can specialize in once you're an MD? because the only ones that come to my mind are like neurology and lab technician.

  1. A doctor can be an OB/GYN, a hematologist/oncologist, a cardiologist, a nephrologist, an orthopedic surgeon, a psychiatrist, anesthesiologist, etc the sky's the limit.

    But a primary care doctor does not specialize, they are generalists. They usually make about $150K unless they specialize, then the can make $300K, $400K, even more if they are neurosurgeons.


  2. Family Practice (primary care) is a specialty.  A lab technician is not a M.D., but a pathologist is.  As an M.D. you can specialize in anything from cardiology to neonatology to emergency medicine and everything in between. FP docs make around 160k a year on avg.
