  1. Depends what country you are referring to. Most receptionists earn $25 K - $40K / year. If you work in a medical office/center, large business firm, 5 star hotel or legal firm you will obviously earn more than if you were to work in a smaller private office.

In the US I don't think age matters as they don't allow discrimination against age.

In Australia and similar countries which pay on age basis, you will be earning minimum wage, unless you can negotiate with the boss to give you the same as an adult.

  2. A receptionist in Malaysia doesn't require much qualifications, the basic SPM will do and some typing and filing skills would be good.

Generally, a receptionist must look fairly presentable, able to speak English, good telephone etiquette and well-mannered.

Pay-wise, not much, as it's entry level job, in the vicinity of RM1000 thereabout. But it depends on which part of the country. The pay is higher in the city centre and I've heard, some companies provide wardrobe allowance!!

  3. What sort of receptionist require a 2-year traineeship ? And for a 16-year old ?  In Malaysia, maybe some RM500.00 per month at most.  ...depending on what school certs you have...Standard 6 ? Form 3 ?   Looks like you do not have Form 5....
