  1. That depends on your previous experience.

Walmart pays about $8 an hour entry level, but they are shifty on their benefits. They will also expect you to work in areas that you aren't familiar with. My friend LOVES working their though, and she was a cashier, but sometimes they put her in departments like autmotive or garden that she knows NOTHING about and they expect her to be an expert. If you work the graveyard shift, you can get about $10 an hour entry level

Target does the same, and pays about the same ($8 entry level with minimal experience) and they expect you to stay past closing if you work at nights to clean up the shelves. My neighbor worked there and he would be scheduled to get off at 12, but would have to stay until 2 am to recover the shelves.

Sam's Club and Costco I don't know, but judging by the times I have shopped there, be prepared from some heavy lifting since people buy things by the box.

If you are looking for an entry-level job, part time or full time, I recommend clothing retail instead of food retail. I have worked in both and clothing is personally better. JC Penney, Mervyn's, Dillards are some that hire people with minimal to zero job experience.

Of those, JC Penney offers the best employee discount.

For all of those, you level of pay will be higher if you already have experience as a chashier.

  2. Not very much depends on the experience.I only know about walmart. They do have great benefits.
