How much do solar panels cost?

Pretty much a random though, but I was just wondering how much solar panels cost. Answers and links to where you got them are appreciated. :)

My neighbor's brother just got a system installed for $20,000 - rated at 4000 watts, so it really puts out about 3400 watts during peak sun, typically, in our area.  That was a professional install.  Check in the phone book or Google for installers in your area, and you can get a free quote.

If you just want to get an idea of prices on the raw materials, try www.partsonsale.com , and look at their kits.  It may be more expensive to just buy the parts than to have a pro install it, because pros buy the equipment wholesale.
