In suburban Philadelphia, my district (considered a well-paying district) paid about $120 a day.

It varies within the state district by district. In my area in Vermont the public school range is $72-$80 per day. The one private school I subbed at last year in Vermont paid $55 per day.

Three years ago in Colorado-I only worked in one district and  I was paid $85 per day, but for long term sub positions (maternity leaves) after 15 days the rate went up to $120 per day probably because they included the planning involved etc.  

Of course, no benefits.
