  1. Paid by the hour, WHERE?  In the USA, every district has its own rates, depending on demand.  Tenure, or how long a teacher has been a teacher plays a factor, and the education they have makes a difference.  Masters degree vs. just a B.A., for example.  CORE hours when I teach, I make about $20 an hour, but actual hours spent on preparation, making tests, grading tests, etc., I hate to think about it....It might be close to minimum wage in some locations.  Oh, My!

  2. They get salary.

  3. I have been teaching for twenty one years in Wyoming.  I have a BA + 45.  Just figured out my wage using annual gross divided by 185 (# of school days), divided by 7 (hours in contract day) and I come up with 44.78 an hour.

KK too bad we get paid "to much".  Nice grammer.

  4. 1.5 apple.

  5. to much.

  6. depending on what degree they have!

some teachers get paid more some teachers get paid less

  7. I don't know of any teachers who are paid by the hour.  The only exception is for things like summer school, and then we get paid by the hours we are in the classroom per week, so it looks like a high hourly rate (about $90) until you realize we probably spend about ten hours on preparations, grading, and office hours for every hour we spend in the classroom.  So it turns out to be about $9/hour.

  8. Do you want the real answer?  We figured it out in Teacher's college and when you factor in all the work we do before and after school hours, including at home and on weekends it is something like $4 dollars an hour. (This is in Canadian dollars)

You teach because you like doing it, i.e. you like the interaction with the students, you do not teach for the money.
