Depends on many things ... location being the primary one.  Where I live the starting salary is low to mid 30's - but the cost of living is relatively low here as well.  You could go to the school corporations near you and ask for a Salary Schedule.  That will tell you exactly what the teachers in your area (in their school district anyway) make.
