How much do the portrait artists at amusement parks get paid?

I've seen what the portrait artists do at amusement parks, and find it very appealing as a job to supplement my income. The only problem for me is the pay. I would like to be paid at least 500 dollars a month in order for me to live happily, but I don't know how much is a reasonable amount to ask for. A detailed answer that is to the point will get best answer.

I think it is commission, you get paid depending on how many drawings you do.
