  1. Depends on distance travelled using toll roads & on which road.Last yr I used to travel a distance of approx 30-35 klm on one of these "A" roads & was charged 2.25 euros.I did travel from Bilbao to north portugal 3 years ago & I think it cost around 50 euros but will be more now.Beware of Portuguese/Spanish driving, they think nothing of travelling right up your backside at whatever speed. You also get nutters driving at high speeds bullying people out of their way

  2. In total road and bridges, from the ferry will cost about 250 euros, in Spain there are many hostels, you will see the H sigh, these are not like the U.K. they are more like hotels, you have double or single rooms with Private bathroom, and balcony, very clean, and nice, they will cost you no more than 25 euros for the night and usually have  a restaurant within walking distance, I hope this helps.

Its not a bad drive, about 20 hours, but be where of getting carjacked, if you are pulled over by someone flashing a badge, make sure you tell them you will follow them to the nearest police station, do not hand over any money or passports.

  3. it's not a fixed price.

it can be higher or lower according to your nationality: if you are from a rich country they'll charge you 500 € and give no reciept. If you are from a poor country (like Albania, Irak, etc) they let you pass without paying, and give you a portuguese army-ration pack (with chouriço and beans! not bad!!)

    no.

    just kidding.

this joke was bad, wasn't it?

  4. no more to say so yeah just have fun

  5. To build or to cross?

  6. As far as a stopover its hard to say. I was in Portugal this past September. I drove from Lisboa to Albufeira in the Algarve. The toll for the Vasco da Gama Bridge, 12 miles long, leaving out of Lisboa was somewhere between 2 and 5 euros. The toll road (A2) from Lisboa to the Algarve was about 18 to 20 euros one way. I am returning there this September. Great country!!!! Loved it!!!! Have fun!!!

  7. petrol in Portugal is 1.53 euro a litre and 1.10 in Spain so drive down Spain  to Seville then on to Algarve and fill up at vila real just before the Portuguese border
