How much do tutors charge where you are?

I am interested in tutoring but don't know what to charge.

I tutored as a volunteer, but I knew of teachers/instructors who  charged a hefty fee; from $25.00 to $60.00 per hour.

I have heard fees can reach as high as $75.00 per hour.

On the other hand there are also those who charge on a sliding scale, and work with the families according to their income, and educational needs.

Depending on your credentials, and experience, you may have to ask around, and decide what the average is in your area, and go from there.

I tutor in Spanish and charge between $30-40 per hour, depending on if the student comes to my home, or if I have to travel to theirs.
