  1. Quite subjective.

  2. The only state in Australia that does this is South Australia, and you get Five cents (AU).

  3. you get paid by pounds not by can it usually runs 40 or 50 cents a pound

  4. .05 cents per pop or juice cans and .10 cents per beer cans

  5. 5 cents.

  6. We just did it the other day.  73 cents per lb.  But copper is the big thing $2.20 a lb, and even what seems to be a small amount turns out to be fairly lucrative

  7. If I cross the bridge into another state I get 5c.   If I go to the local recycling center I get 60c per pound.   There are about 16 clean, dry 12 oz. cans in a pound.   If there's a little beer, a cigarette butt or a slug in each can I would get more at the recycling center.   Plus its closer than crossing the bridge.

  8. Wish there was a simple answer to this.  Say a national uniform recycling deposit act!!!

The link below shows what states have deposits and how much there are.  Most seem to go with $0.05, but Michigan is $0.10.

Most of the other states go by a per-pound rate that seems to be around $0.67 on average.

Be warned though -- don't try to drive a few thousand cans and bottles up to Michigan to get the deposit rate (as in the "Seinfeld" episode).  Bottles being returned are now scanned to see if they came from the state.   You could possible be fined for trying to "sneak" out off state bottles / cans in.

  9. In Ky, you get 50 cents per pund. Check around and see what the best price is. Some places vary over others. At least you are recycling.
