How much do umbrella cockatoo's cost in ohio?

i want to get a umbrella cockatoo but dont know how much they cost and where to get one........................=D

or wat is the chepest kind of cockatoo....................=D

never pick a bird based on price- it's like the old saying -if you have to ask how much it is - you can't afford it.

buying the bird is the first of many expenses- cage,food ,vet care- annual check ups can be expensive- toys - toys - and toys.

Then you have to calculate the damage done to your house. Even the smaller of the cockatoos can mangle the woodwork in your home - in seconds.  then there are the play stands -cockatoos need to be out of their cage for several hours a day and a simple "T"stand is not enough - they need places to climb and things to chew.  My U2 is happiest when he is destroying things.

If after all of that you still want one please find a shelter that has some- there are always lots of cockatoos looking for homes because too many people get them because they look cool and then can't afford them or can't take the noise.

Cockatoo's range in size fron the Goffins to the Greater's and everything inbetween.

Price depends on availabilty, area and breeder and which Cockatoo you want.

Cockatoo's are not for the first time bird owner and in fact they aren't for too many people. They are very needy birds with very high IQ's and need experienced bird owner's

Yes, I have had several Cockatoo's and now have two Umbrella's, who require alot of my time and money.

Black Palm/Red Vent/Greater's/Tritons/Gang-Gangs/Durcor... are rarer birds that  cost thousands of dollar's. All Cockatoo's are over $1,000.00

Then cage's large enough and safe enough for them are $800 and up. Toys for the large one's start at $45.00

A large aviary is best, but they can be in cages -

None of the Cockatoo's do well caged alot, they need to have bird stands and hanging swings, Boings and Atom's and alot of one on one time with you.
