I heard AutoZone does it. But I'm not sure how much they'll charge me, if at all they will.

  1. A dealer will charge you at least $50.  A good mechanic (independent) will do it for free.

  2. free many part stores

  3. our local auto zone does it free, just so they can get the sell on the repair pats. sometimes it is worth it and other times its best to take to a good mac.

  4. i bought a scanner for about 120 since i have 10,000 girl friends who always call me with car trouble and it is worth it, though you will have to carry a computer alone to input and read the code.

any auto parts dealer will normally do it for free.

unless you just want to have the ease of scanning a vehicle, do it the auto parts way

also, if you have friends who are active military, they can get a 10% discount by showing id at most stores that sell parts, not all

that would include reserve, guard/air-force navy and marine

  5. should be no charge if a cost is involved tell them to bugger off .service light comes on as the odometer ticks over the servo resets it for you

  6. Generally it is a free service so they can sell you parts get the code numbers and write down the freeze frame data. DO NOT clear the code until repairs are made. As always Year make model would have been helpfull. Something as simple as a loose gas cap can set a P0455 code

  7. Here in Kemptville Ontario my mechanic does not charge

But the local Canadian Tire will charge 55.00

  8. yes its free at autozone
