  1. They make as much as any other police officer for the dept that they work for with the same time and experience on.  It's just a different unit of the police dept.  You would typically have to be 21, have a 4 yr college degree (or military experience) and go through the academy.  Then, most depts. have requirements before you request a transfer to a unit like Vice.  My dept you have to have 5 yrs on as a street officer, then apply for transfer and go through the interview process, etc.

  2. The answer to that question is going to vary greatly depending on the size of the law enforcement organization you want to work for.  Typically, four to six years of college and or military as well as two years law enforcement experience.  In Dallas, the position would probably pay about $55,000 per year.  That is probably well, well above the national average.

  3. Pays a h**l of a lot if you're a dirty cop,as most are.You could seize millions in dope and cash and never get caught or you could just run a protection racket with the local drug dealers and hos...

  4. You need to become a regular cop first and then apply for a transfer.  Most municipal goverrnments list starting salaries with the job description. But of course, your "real" salary always depends on how much you skim from the degenerates and drug dealers you bust in the line of duty.
