  1. The employer only has to pay enough so that with tips, they will make at least minimum wage. This varies from state to state.

  2. Regardless of your state it can vary from restaurant to restaurant- but on average, yes they usually make minimum wage.

  3. depends on their location -ask around your area.

  4. i have been a chef for thirteen years and in my experience (in Australia) nearly every one in the hospitality is on an agreed wage.

the average wage is aroud the 10 dollars an hour mark.

depending on your skill level, work ethic, place of work and years of experience a very good waiter/ess can earn up to 16 dollars an hour.  This is assuming it is cash in hand only.

Working for larger companies yields larger pays and penalty rates.

A gaming venue can pay almost anything depending on what time you work and even on what day.  These places are typically always hiring.  I would start there if you are chasing some quick cash.

Oh yes also if you are full time that gives it a boost as well

    good luck.

  5. food servers get minimum wage, not including tips

  6. $2.25 per hour...

  7. You didn't say what state you are from. So probably just minimum wage, because they make most of their money from tips.

  9. In RI $2.89/hr is the minimum wage for tipped positions...pretty menial.
