  1. Given cash on the street makes you feel good, however many times it only feeds their addiction. which is why they are on the street. Buying them food, if you don't actually see them eat it, they return it to stores and ask for money. I am talking about in America, don't know all about other countries. Now I know how to answer " how would you change the world" questions; solve the many problems of homeless.

  2. Don't give them anything, some make a carrier out of panhandling. On average the "pro's" make around 45,000 a year!! One was arrested here in Florida and had $3500 in his pocket. He was arrested for panhandling. Its against the law here.

  3. I usually never give cash to a homeless person because you cannot control what that person is going to do with that money. I will however, buy a meal, offer to buy a meal or give my leftovers or guilt my friends to give them their restaurant leftovers.

Volunteering your time for shelters, drives, kitchens or health fairs is also a good way of providing help without giving out cash.

  4. I have my own local homeless man near my workplace. Last winter I gave him a thick blanket. I pack an extra lunch every day for him. He's so thankful and nice that it just breaks my heart.

I don't give money. Just in case, you know?

  5. All of Asia is overpopulated so I dont doubt that there were lots of homeless people but its not the case that they just dont have a home here in America. Some people may disagree but many times people are homeless because they are alcoholics or drug addicts. Its sad but its true. You cant really tell the difference. I personally feel bad for the people no matter what, and if I had money to give away I would probably just give away $5 or $10.
