How much do you need to live in Madrid per month? Is quality of life good there?

Any idea what's the salary there? how much is the monthly metro pass? what about the rent?

Any info would be appreciated

I have a friend who's living there at the moment.  Rent is about 400€ and a metro pass starts from about 45€ up to 100€ ish.  Depends on the zone

i lived in madrid for 6 months. you can share an apartment with strangers for around 250-380euro a month, usually will include bills and community charges. you can get a place to yourself for about 650-750 in decent areas too. salaries are low though, depending on your field. you can get a job as an english teacher for about 700-900 a month, plus you can do private lessons for 15euro or more an hour. if your looking for places to live try www.loquo.com. you can get a 'bono' which covers all metro and bus for the month, can't remember the price though,sorry.
