How much do you pay for a massage and do you tip?

Does your massage therapist come to you or do you go to them?

I go to a massage therapist in a day spa in Southlake, TX. Depending on the type of massage I pay $65-$85 an hour, I tip 20%.

If you go to a spa for a massage, an hour usually cost anywhere between $75-$100.  You do tip your massage therapist and you want to tip 20% of however much the service cost.

I go to her house, it's $40 dollars, and in my country, Australia, tipping is not customary.

I pay $50 and yes I tip.  But I think it is fine, not to tip if they set their own price.  If you got to a therapist that only gets a certain %, then  the therapist will be very grateful for a tip.

My massage therapist comes to my house and it costs $305 for an hour and I give a $61 tip

It depends on a couple of things.  First, a masseuses may be self employed and thus sets their fee as they see fit.  They set the value of their professional service.

But some massage therapists may work in a chiropractor's or other type office and are paid hourly.  Now they should be tipped based on the level of service you receive, as their fee is preset no matter how they do.

I go to a therapist in a doctors office, she is paid hourly and so I tip her at the end because she may do extra work on a bad calf muscle or hip joint that I request.  She does extra reward for extra effort.

You may notice that many hourly employees only do enough to get by, extra effort deserves extra pay.

Do you tip the mailman? Do you tip your doctor? Do you tip the cashier?

These people get paid already!!! They need to start paying people in the restaurants/food delivery better so you don't have to tip anyone anymore.
