  1. I used to pay 95 a week.  But I had to pay for everything else.  Lunch, snacks, her learning supplies.

You should check into a head start program.  Even if you make too much.  You might get a discounted price.  My sister was paying 30 a week.

    Good Luck

  2. about 600 bucks a month?

  3. Most preschools I looked at in the Bay Area are privately owned and very pricey. This seems crazy to me, but there are some preschool programs in different communities, ie Pleasant Hill Rec (if you're in the East Bay). Check the community newsletter you get in the mail every season from the city you live in or go to the city website and click on recreation or program tabs.  If you have the time you may look into a cooperative preschool. I do this with my son and it's a lot of fun. It's only $200 per term (about 3 months) but it does take some work on your part. You have to be willing to get involved at the school. I know a lot of working moms who get help from the grandparents and dads to make it work. It's not for everyone! I have formed a lot of good friendships with the other moms and I totally recommend bringing your child in to try one out for a few days. Good luck!

  4. mine is $500 for the whole year! are you not covered by the government educational benefit?

we should work hard for the education of our children

i guess there is no excuse only strong committment! good luck.

  5. I own a small private preschool - 3 year olds go two morning or afternoons a week and I charge $70 a month.  4 and 5 year olds go three morning or afternoons a  month and I charge $95 a month.  I am also contracted with Job and Family services who will help anyone who can't afford to send their child to preschool. You  may choose the preschool you want to send your child to and they will pay for it -the only stipulation is that the parent must either be working or going to school during the time the child is at school.  Check into that route -it might help you.

  6. Check into Head Start the income limits might be higher the you think. If your local High School has a tech center they might offer a free or inexpensive preschool program. I know of two high schools around where I live that do and people love them.

  7. For preschool both of my kids went to a public school that offered pre-k. I didn't have to pay anything, just supplies that they needed. Look at publice schools that offer pre-k  or junior kindergarten.

  8. Is that a preschool or a daycare? That sounds like daycare pricing. My daughter goes to a religious preschool three afternoons a week, and it costs $135 a month. My public school district offers a similar program for $140 a month. Check with your local school district for the Head Start program, like another one of your responders said. Head Start is an awesome program, you might be able to get your child into an all day program, and because you can show financial hardship, it should be of minimal or no cost to you! Head Start is such a great program, I think all preschoolers should have to attend!

  9. The public school in my district has a preschool program.  It's $180 per month and includes bus transportation.  If your district doesn't offer this, do you have any churches in the area that have a pre-k program?  $600 per month is a lot!

  10. Private you will have to pay thru the nose for unless you are low income or on assistance.

Public schools are offering more more Free and reasonable Preschool programs.

  11. Our academic-based PreK is $800 monthly for a M-F, 9:00a to 2:00p (the rates for 2008-2009 will be $900).  You get what you pay for.
