I didn't ask you how much I pay, did I? Just wondering what other people are.

  1. Around 300 bucks.

  2. That's about as relevant as asking me what color socks I'm wearing.

There are so many different rating factors that go into homeowners, the exact same house can cost between $300 and $3,000 to insure, in different circumstances.

It doesn't matter what *I* pay for my house insurance.  Even if you bought my house from me, likely YOUR rates would be different.

  3. About $700/yr

  4. you're dead on mbrcatz.   i dont know how anyone is giving you a bad rating for your response.  i am also an agent and i find it humorous when someone asks me something as generic as how much does homeowners insurance cost or how much would it cost for me to insure such and such a vehicle.  people are sometimes naive to the fact that its not simply based on the house or the vehicle, but the occupant has just as much to do with it if not more.

  5. Yes, it really depends on a lot of factors—size of home, its age, replacement value, and even where you live. If you are looking for “average” figures, check out the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’  Homeowners Insurance Report. There is a table with the average for each state. You can see the full report here: http://www.naic.org/documents/research_s... To get an accurate, fair quote, talk to an insurance broker. A broker works with many companies and can find the best coverage and price for you. To find one, log onto a website like http://www.homeownerswiz.com and request a free quote.
