  1. $15,000

  2. i bought my set used for 250$ but im cheap LOL

it's a personal choice really.... depends on what you like... my fiance and i just bought a house so our money is going towards house stuff, and well my fiance is just so darned lucky that i'm not into the idea of a big ring to begin with. Plus i lose stuff alot  lol ...

i think several people here suggested around 1500$ and that seems reasonable... congrats

  3. depends on how much u make, what the girl wants, if she wants a diamond, if she cares it is expensive. some of my friends spent about $1600 for a small diamond ring. I know some people who spend like $30000 but they are really rich....I wouldnt spend that much. ill rather save it for a house. My fiance and I looked at rings, compared prices and went to a jewellers a friend introduced us to..and got a ring for around $5500-$7000 (depending on exhange rate). its a customised ring. 1.01 carat centre with tiny tiny sidestones on the side aboit 0.08 ....its F colour, VS 1, good cutting with GIA cert. so..........how we decided to spend that much was....i wanted a colourless ring which means it has to be from D-F colour. and D is too expensive so we got F. VS1..because when I compared it to a S1 clarity, I could see the clouds on the S1..so I couldnt live with that...knowing I could see the flaws..but VS 1, I couldnt. and 1 carat coz well...coz i like diamonds but not rich enough to afford bigger :D....

so all in all...compare prices...see what u like..some people like a lower grade in colour coz they like a warmer colour of yellow. or maybe the girl has really small hands so only needs a small ring...etc...just see what u can afford...and see if u WANT the ring more..than say other things for the wedding..which will cost u a lot too :)..

    hope this helps. good luck

  4. its about how much you can afford!  dont overdo it unless you know you can pay for it!

  5. The classic answer is "two to three months' salary." The realistic answer is "no more than you can comfortably afford."

  6. My boyfriend and I went engagement ring shopping yesterday and here's how we're doing it:

Before going to pick one out, we had a planned budget of about $700. However, once we started looking at them in person and trying them on, we realized that we would be spending more. Now he's looking at about $1500.

The wedding bands appear to be about $500 or so.

I would suggest coming up with an estimated budget and then going to sit down with an associate at a jewelry store because that helped us ALOT. Good luck!

  7. however much you can afford. if you know you can save for example  $400 over the next 3 months, then spend 1,200. "traditionally" its 3 months of the mans salary...which is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard! just budget what you can afford to put back for 3 month & or figure out if you are willing to make smaller payments for another 3 months. so this way if you cant put back very much, jewelers usually have fiancing opions.

  8. No more than you can comfortably afford. It's hard to plan your future when a little piece of metal with a mineral deposit attached to it has bankrupted you!

  9. depends on what you can afford.  dont get more than you can take.  mine we got on sale for about $1500 but its real value is over $2000...and my band was another $300 later.

  10. we bought a cluster diamond ring and we paid 2000 for mine the diamonds are bigger and stand out more and that always what a girl wants when you get a one stone diamond then your looking a 5000 for a 1ct or less mine is 2 1/2 cts so better for the buck we bought it at Crescent Jewelers and the good thing is you can get approved for credit very fast and you can take it home that day too and later on if you want to upgrade it for a bigger diamond you can

well good luck hoped i helped

  11. This question has been asked several times before. Pleae check the boards for similar answers. :-)

With that said, the old adage is 3 months salary, but most guys spend as much as they can possibly afford to get the ring she'll love.

  12. Up to the couple. I actually recommend that you go with her to buy the ring since she's the one who is going to wear it.

According to often spouted recommendations, the amount is supposed to be twice the guy's monthly salary.  My ring is going to cost about $1500, which is quite a bit less than my guy's monthly salary, so clearly, it really is up to the couple. I'm getting what I really like and we are also spending a bit more on the wedding rings ($500 each instead of a plain band).

  13. Traditionally it is said that an engagement ring should be 2 months salary but this has long been burried. Get the ring that she loves as long as you can afford it.

  14. Does it matter ?

Get what you like and what you can afford, my ring is platinum with a single one and quarter carat square diamond and that was £1,000 so we got a good deal for that , it should have cost over £3,000.

Its not about money, in fact some people dont bother with engagement rings and concentrate on spending more on wedding rings.

I am sure you will be happy with whatever your budget can afford.

    Congratulations anyway.

  15. Under $400.

P.S. The real answer, of course, is however much you are comfortable spending on a symbolic piece of jewelry.
