  1. I go by what they need, then we take a look at the wants. I have 3 kids so we are on a budget, but usually about $200 per child.

  2. This coming school year will probably rob my wallet of $1200-$1400 for clothes and another $300-$400 for supplies for six children. They will be going into 9th grade, 8th, 6th, 4th, 1st, and Prek.

  3. Hard to answer. You didn't mention the age or s*x of the child. You can buy jeans at WalMart for your 10 year old for about $20.00 or you can buy them at Macy's for $45.00. They need 5 pairs of pants and probably 10 shirts so that the outfits can be mixed. How much you spend depends on your finances.

For my older kids (high school) I gave them $300.00 and anything over that was their responsibility. They could buy shoes at Payless or Nike--it was up to them how they spent the money.

  4. My son is 7 going on 8 and honestly, we don't really do back to school shopping.  Were we live, I New England it is still really hot at the begining of the school year so we find he just wants to wear shorts and things that keep him cool for the first couple months.  We usually but htings as he needs them

  5. I buy my daughter clothes all the time, so when school comes around, she doesn't need much. Maybe around $300?

    My daughter is 6.

  6. About $100 for a 9-10 year old.  My daughter is petite and she really likes the Childrens place.  We can get several pairs of jeans/pants and shirts for a great price there.

  7. My parents spend about $150 plus the cost of tennis shoes if i need them, but I'm 15 and don't out grow my shoes.

When i was younger was $75, but when i was outgrowing my closes i had cheaper outfits.

  8. I try not to do back to school clothes, either.  My step daughter is still wearing shorts and skirts and t-shirts from summer at the beginning of school.

And then we just fill in with a new shirt here or there or new jeans as her old ones wear out or she out grows them.

  9. it all dedends on the age but I would never spend mor than 500

  10. We spend roughly $400.This is for 10 pairs of pants,15 shirts, 2 new packs of sock 2 new packs of underwear, and new shoes. He is 6 and in 1st grade. We have to replace his jeans mid year for worn knees and last year he had a growth spurt in the middle of school. So there was another  $200 easy.We live in a mid upper class area though and I refuse to send my child to school in tattered clothes. So when they start to show signs of wear we replace them

  11. $0. I steal them from other children to give to mine.

  12. about 100 bucks on 1 kid

  13. I honestly try to hit up alot of the second hand or discount shops first (like once upon a child, or Marshalls, etc.)  I usually buy all their undergarments from Walmart.  The children's place and Old Navy has awesome "2 for" deals on jeans.  All in all I spend about $300 per kid, I would probably spend more if I didn't have 3 kids and one on the way.

I also look for deals throughout the year and try to put larger sizes back to have them ready and new come the next school year.

  14. My daughter is 9 and my son will be 7 next month.  In years past, I've noticed that I usually spend around 150-200 on each of them for the start of school, depending on the condition and fit of last year's clothes.  I try to make sure each of them has at least 6 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of chinos (for my son) and 2 skirts/dresses suitable for school (for my daughter) 12 shirts, 2 packages of underwear, and 2 packages of socks, and of course new shoes.  We've been lucky in that usually their pants will fit them from last fall and won't have to be replaced until sometime late winter.

  15. I have 2 children.  Son is 16 and daughter is 8.  I usually look for bargains throughout the year and buy as they're on sale.  You can usually judge about what size you'll need for the next season.  Also don't be afraid to check out "Goodwill".  You may be surprised what you'll find there as well!   When my kids grow out of their clothing, I have a few friends that buy them from me, that way I can put some back into what they need.

  16. Im in high school and the initial uniform cost $700 (but thats for 3 years) and me and my sisters shoes cost $350 combined. So about for me about $550 per year.

  17. I always check ebay for clothing lots in my childds size.  I can usually get around 19-24 pieces anywhere from 15-25 dollars depending on the brand names.  I would definately look into it.  It's been a panny saver at our house for years.

  18. If they are in grade school, fashion isn't a big deal.  Kids wear whatever, so I would shop at Wal-mart and Target.  I never spend more than $15 for any one shirt or pant.  4 or 5 pairs of pants and 7 or 8 shirts will usually be more than enough.  Most kids pick their favorites and wear them as soon as they are clean anyway!!

  19. My son just turned 6 and probably $100.00 will do it in the fall.

He get new shoes for Christmas and a cheap pair for when school is out to play in. He also has a cousin a couple of years older than him, so he get a few hand-me downs from him to play in.

  20. Well it really depends because we have uniforms here.  I usually start my son off with at least 3 shirts and 3 pants. Then after that we take it day by day if he needs more or something else.  This year, my daughter is starting pre-k so it will be double now. lol

  21. Depends if your child needs alot of chlothes then you obviously buy more but if he or she doesnt then you just buy a few things it is all occording to the childs NEEDS

  22. Elementry-$200

    Middle School-$400

    Hign School-$600

    College-$20,000 (for all supplies)

  23. It varies depending on the age of the child.   My oldest daughter stopped growing a couple of years ago, and has a very nice wardrobe.  At this point, she usually only needs new shoes at the beginning of a school year, so there's no need for me to spend a lot (she is a sophomore).

My middle daughter is going through a HUGE growth spurt at the moment.  She is 12 years old, going on 13.  I will probably need to spend the most on her this fall, because at the rate she is going, she will need a whole new wardrobe!  She's hard to fit, because she's very very thin, and needs slim jeans.   The only jeans that really fit her well are Abercrombie Kids and Limited Too, so I'll end up spending quite a bit on her......maybe $400 when we're all done.  She's a much different shape than my older daughter, so she can't wear the hand-me-downs.

My youngest is 6 and will be 7 by the start of the new school year.  She fits very nicely into my 12-year-old's hand-me- downs, so like the oldest child she will only need new shoes.
