  1. My kids are young (3,7,10) so $80-100 each and yes equal with them all. Must say i source their presents well, sales through the year,QUALITY op shops (because they know the difference!)and we have one that the stuff is practicaly brand new,for second hand sports gear, games, etc, the net..My sister has older kids (12,17,18) and they prefer gift vouchers, money, anything they cant afford and I think about $100 each.I guess depends on your finances and how many kids. I remember when I first moved out of home my mum got me a microwave thats still going and paid my phone bill,I was stoked!!

  2. i dont own time

  3. i dont know how much my mom spends but i know she spend the same on me and my brother because she will say Sam i'm done your shopping, no money left, so i think she sets a budget. i'm 16 and he is 13.

  4. It depends on what they want (within reason).  We have a Christmas savings that is all we spend on Christmas, this year it looks like we will have about $200 for each.  That being said, no we don't spend the same on each child, I hate trying to keep everything *even* plus my kids are not into the *s/he got more or more expensive things then I did*.  In our family, that's not what Christmas is all about.

  5. About $300. each. Sometimes a little less for my 6 year old but that's only because most of her stuff costs less. My ten year old is a little more expensive. They get the same amount of stuff. I think last year I counted their gifts before setting them out and my youngest had 1 more gift or something, but my oldest had about $50. more spent on her (by accident). They don't check price tags or anything. :)

  6. Well I know for a fact that I get more than my brother for christmas but he is 20 and my parents tend to get us what we want, he wanted tickets for T in the Park and 100 cash he got it, I wanted a 46" plasma for my bedroom with an Xbox 360 and I got that. (I am 16)

but in response to your awnser my parents do not spend the same amount on each child.

  7. I usually spend £100 to £150. I try to spend roughly the same amount on my children otherwise I would feel guilty even though I know that they don't know how much I've spent. They each get 1 big present and then a dozen or so small presents. I have to make sure they get exactly the same amount of presents though or war would break out in my house.

  8. No more than $50.  I buy each a few CD's and a cute top that I know they would like.  I think that's more than enough.

  9. I don't spend a given amount on either of my children, I get them something that they want. Some years that might be something expensive and some years it will be much cheaper. I'm also inclined to spend more if it's something useful that they want, such as a musical instrument that they're learning.

  10. We don't have a set limit. Typically, we'll buy them a really special, "main" gift, and a bunch of little odds and ends, and their stocking stuffers as well... plus some clothes too... and no, we don't spend the same on each, we just get what we think they will like.

Our kids are only 4 and under, so the second part I can't answer personally, but I know my inlaws seem to go crazy at Christmas for everyone.

All in all, nobody should set monitary limit. Just know how much you CAN spend and find what you think the person you're buying for would like. If it's beyond your means, either save for a while or try to find something similar...

Add: I will also try to find things prior to the "Christmas shopping" time of year. I also shop at TONS of different stores so I am able to typically find some really good sales that way...

  11. I spend about $300.00 on each of my kids. I do try to keep the spending as even as I can.  Why should one child get more then the others?

  12. When they're little we won't do a whole extravaganza, generally the supplies they need and maybe a few toys. When they're older, we will do their one "big gift" and then a few other smaller things, depending on our situation that year. When they move out, I don't know...we'll have to see.

I am 17. For Christmas, we generally do one "big thing" and then a few other smaller things. For birthdays we do one big thing and that's it, because family also does gifts (my mom is one of 5 and my dad is one of 12).

  13. With my niece and nephew things are planned out by the number of gifts instead of the price tag. They  always end up with the same amount of gifts but the prices usually vary a lot. It is usually around 8-10 presents a piece right now as they are still young and their stuff isn't expensive.

  14. I didn't really have a set amount. I'm not going out spending thousands of dollars per kid, but my yearly price depended on what my girls wanted. I guess I'd say the average over the years was about $300-450 per kid.

The amount of money wasn't what I kept the same...it was amount of things they asked for. If one of my girls wanted 3 stuff animals and the other wanted 3 shirts, those two things aren't coming out to the same price!

When they were little and all at home, they each got 6-7 presents and one large present for all of them to share. Over the years they got a ping pong table, playstation, a big karkoke machine, a swingset, big TV for the hang out room etc.

When they got into their teens, they got a few presents and our big was to go somewhere on vacation in Jan. Now I have one moved out and married, two in college and two at home, we all get each other presents. Everyone ends up witrh a total of 5 (1 from us and 1 from each sister) and then we go away for a long weekend in mid Jan.

  15. I spend about $200 on my daughter.  If I had another child I would spend the same amount on each of them and try to keep the number of presents as equal as possible.

  16. My mom and grandmother just buy things for my sister and I. No specific amount of presents or money spent.

  17. i dont have children....but theres me and 2 brothers...my older brother is now 24, i'm 21, my other brother 19........all of our lives my mom has spent around $300 on each of us....even now that we're all moved out she still spends the same amount....i tell her that we dont need that much spent on us, but she likes still spoiling us =)

  18. i spend as little as possible when they are little, from 12 up, around 100-150 each, and 30.00 for their birthdays.
