How much do you think I should get in allowance if I wash and dry the dishes. Clean out the litter box. Mop the floor. Clean the bathroom once a week. Vacume the house. Clean off the coffee table. Clean off the counters. Feed the cats. Clean up the living room. Clean up the kitchen. And take out the garbage.

  1. $20 to $25

  2. I believe you should work around the house because you are a member of the family and everyone has chores to do to keep a household going.

So, I don't believe in a set amount of allowance in trade for doing chores.

However, I do believe in teaching financial responsibility so allowing my kids to have spending money, and teaching them how to keep accounting, of what they spend, what they take in, what they save, was very useful.

How much of an allowance would depend on your age.

OF course, I always purchased those things my kids wanted or needed, which is a perk of not giving them an allowance in exchange for work as I was able to control what they owned and what they did not own. If one earns money, one should be allowed to spend it as one chooses. I didn't want them to have that privilege until they understood financial responsibility.

  3. 3 dollars

  4. I don't think you should get an allowance. You are part of a family, and have the same responsibilities as anyone there.  I DO think you should be paid for chores.  Washing windows, washing the car, weeding, etc.  These are not "normal", everyday things.

  5. With all that you should get about 20-25

  6. 1 Dollar
