You can't buy one golf.   Well, you can, but you would have trouble playing with one club.   For tennis, you can get a decent racquet for $100.   Top racquets cost over $200 now.   For a beginner, you can buy racquets for $25 or $30 on up.

If you want a sorta okay raquet you can buy them from Wal-Mart, Target or Academy for like 20 or 50 bucks. But a real raquet suitable for your own playing style will definitely cost you 100-200 bucks, maybe more depending on which brand you get from places like tenniswarehouse.com, that's where I get mind from. As for golf clubs you can buy them from any regular store like Target or Wal-Mart, but they run over 100 bucks, I actually saw pink ones in Target the other day I started to get them, they were really cute. LOL

Since I am a serious tennis player, I buy the expensive raquets. The most expensive one that I have is $179 and the cheapest one I have is $24. I also have lots of other ones in between those prices. If your serious like I am get the $179 raquet. If your a beginner then get the $24 dollar one.

PS- The $24 one was a present. I would never buy one that cheap!     ~ Tennis ROX!!  =]=]

Cheap racquets can be found at stores like wal-mart/sportmart in the 20-50 dollar range.  These racquets are made to take a beating, and don't use the materials/technologies of the player's racquets.

Good racquets will run you 150-250 bucks.  These are the newest things out, though.  You can find what used to be top-of-the-line models on liquidation for 75-120 bucks.  These are probably the best value out there.

For golf, cheap sets will run you 150-200 bucks.  And expensive sets, including drivers, can be well over $1000.
