I have a dream of being a famous actress and I've had a passion for it ever since I was about 8 years old. I've done a few school plays when I was younger. I'm 13 years old.

Questions:

Where do I find REAL agencies for an agent?

How much do agents cost?

What are some REAL acting agencies?

Don't tell me to search it because I will never know if they're real agencies of not

Thank you SO much :)

  1. The best way of finding real agencies in your area is to search google for 'talent agencies in your area' read about them and if they work with SAG thats a good thing, and even call them and find out more information also another way by finding agencies is asking around.. get your parents to ask around also.

Talent agents don't coast a penny.. they make the money buy getting you jobs. EX. if you go on an audition they gave you, they get 10-20% of what you make (which is a really good deal)

Most agencies are real.. the ones you want to stay away from are places like Casablanca, Powers, and Pro scout -- they are classes not agencies. Good Luck:)

  2. you shoudl do some classes!participate in plays! build up your resume! get an agent! do auditions! get headshots!

    actinginfo.blogspot.com

    acting411.blogspot.com

    hannahmontanacasting.blogspot.com

and for an agent go to talentagents.blogspot.com and scroll down till you find city nearest you

read everythign you see! and click on words in blue but not double udnerlined ones and i suggest that you sign up with alan baltes go to first site and look at right column it explains everything! he wont be an agent just help you out and its a one time fee of 30 dollars and totally worth it

  3. Forgive that I have to smile at "when I was younger". At 13 you might still be considered so.

Legitimate agents/agencies are something YOU or a parent need to research. They should be affiliated with the industry, have a reputable client base, be credible in any general definition of the word,  not ask for any up front fees, offer a client list you might check, etc.

"YOU" should check orgs. such as SAG, AFTRA, EQUITY, etc. and find out who they most often deal with.

While I have a very low regard for Agents, and disagree in part with the answer stating 10 to 20% is very fair, it is  common. That said, and the fact that an agent makes an income from your income, 10% of ZERO is hardly going to keep an agent. Much of the effort rests on you, the client, IF a job is secured for you.

"FAME" is relative and subjective, and Passion is what you need, but it isn't a promise for any of us that we'll be on the Yellow Brick Road. The numbers of us who are in the tabloids and the millionaires club can be counted on your fingers, while others might fill several metro phone books.

  4. Per Aldaras Wolf:  "While I have a very low regard for Agents, and disagree in part with the answer stating 10 to 20% is very fair, it is common."

10%-15% (the same percentage a talent/personal manager would also make) is also a legal and union-related requirement.

  5. where doyou live you have to go to the city closest to you and reigster with them or if you want prior knowledge google it
