Its probably a seal, you're looking at a maximum of $1000--it the labor that runs up the price. Try to find a garage that is bigger than smaller (more manpower) but not high on service charges. Find out how long they estimate it will take man hours and try to hold them to that estimate.

If it's leaking from the pan do it yourself it'll be alot cheaper then taking it to a mechanic just go to a auto parts store and ask for the gasket. I know you will thank me
