How much do you think it will cost to go to america for 1 year of my degree?

Either to Georgia State Uni or to California State Uni.

I know it will cost a bit but i'd have to pay fees here anyways which are £3100 or something like that. So i could use that for my fees over there, and i'd also get a job over there. How much do you recon it would cost?

You donot provide enough relevent information, is this an exhange program, if so you will be on a J-1 visa which does not permit you to work and the price of everything, except living expenses should be included in the overall price of the exchange provided by your school.

If you just want to come to the U.S. to study for a non-exchange study trip then you will need an F-1 visa and this only permits you to work 20 hours per week and all employment must be done on campus. So if this is the case, you will be paying out-of-state/international student fees.

Georgia State - $8,175.00* for 12 credit hours (one semester/four classes).

This price does not include living expenses (rent, food, insurance), text books, materials (pens, paper etc) - budget for a further $10,000 - $12,000 for these.

If you are on a course which has an exchange year as part of the degree it may well not cost you anything extra - you pay your normal UK fees, and the US student who will be spending a year studying in your UK university pays their normal US fees.

If it's not a normal part of the degree, you need to check whether it is possible before you even apply to university in the UK. Certainly not all UK universities will accept credits from elsewhere. You might end up having to do it as an extra year rather than it counting as a year of your degree.
