  1. They already have breathalysers attached to car ignitions. If you have previous DUI conviction this device forces you to breath clean breath to start the car.

Anyway, the government does not wish to decrease DUIs. This would cut into police enforcement revenues. Even the breathalysers used makes a great profit along with the fees associated with them.

If government wished to keep drunk driving to a minimum they would ban alcohol; but this is silly as they would loose huge tax revenue.

  2. nada

  3. Prevention is no the issue to them.

    1) Tickets

    2) Confiscation of cars for auction

    1) A one time fee for this device?

The ability to steal someones private property (a car worth thousands) is a King like power over its pesants. It is a power that will be near impossible to wrestle away from the government.

Perhaps your invention should be installed in the car, allow the driver to start driving, detect slight alcahol levels, and then contact police with a gps system, then auto disable the car and lock the doors. Then, the device can simultaneously get a car value quote, and enter the car for bid on the city police website.

The device should detect more than alcahol levels. It should detect low blood sugar, sleepyness, low or high energy levels, distraction levels, and other factors that can lead to what the state determines to be dangerous while driving - since swerving and or getting in an accident is not enough of a crime.
