How much do you tip the movers?

I am moving from NYC to a fourth floor walk up in Hoboken. The movers are charging $90 an hour and estimate it will take abot 3-4 hours. I also have to add an hour for travel time. How much do I tip?

  1. When I moved from Pennsylvania to Florida, I gave the head mover $100 to split between him and the other mover. They were wonderful and both loaded and unloaded for us, so I felt they deserved it.

  4. Depends how much they break, literally and figuratively.

  5. I think the one mover's site had a good sugestion (it was mooshie's or something).  It was $5/hour per guy.  Seemed reasonable to me

    It  you are doing the % method, then do not include the % on top of boxes, "insurance", travel time, ... only on the time they worked

  6. 20 bucks each would make their day.
