How much do you typically pay for the lenses of your glasses?

I was distrought to find out I needed glasses....8 years ago. I still have the same old pair (which no doubt have an expired perscription). I finally decided that although I wear contacts every day, I should get a new pair of glasses. I have looked at new frames so I know the price range there, but what do the lenses typically cost?

Thanks.

  1. Do you have health insurance? That will help determine things. When I didn't have insurance a few years back, I got new lenses put in and it still cost me $300. If you can go to the optometrist, see if you can go there and ask there what your prescription is. Then you can order a cheap pair of glasses from here:

It's cheap and you'll just blow maybe $30 on the frames, and then pay for the exam with the optometrist. Best of luck!
