  1. Where I live some places charge extra for take out.(not fast food places). I seriously doubt that people think about the expense that goes into a takeout order. Like others have said, the cook the waitress etc. Also it is a big pain to put together an order right, not to mention if you miss one single thing it is like the end of the world to some people. Who by the way are probably the ones who don't tip. They are the worst. I don't do it now but used to. Never will again. Some people are too incensitive. I think it is much easier serving a customer at the restaurant.  my opinon....

  2. Nothing.

  3. A couple of dollars depending on the cost of my food/difficulty of the order if it takes a lot to put together, special requests, extras, discounts, if they help me to my car with a large order

  4. Of course you tip! There is someone in charge of take-out they put everything together. Tip depends how much you order. If you order for two 2-4 bucks!

  5. Such a bunch of cheapskates here.  You do realize that a waiter or waitress puts together your to-go meals, right?  And a cook cooks it.  And someone needs to make sure you have utensils, and that extra ranch sauce everyone requests.  And the burger, but hold the tomatoes and bun and mustard and everything else, but add some bacon and mayo.  It takes time and effort to put together so many to-go orders, and they should be tipped for it.  Tip at least 10%.  If you can't afford it, don't rely on someone else to cook/pack your food for you.

  6. nothing, unless i order something at the bar while waiting

  7. Tips are only for waiters, who serve you, or deliverers, who bring food to you.  You tip for services that don't necessarily NEED to be provided to you.  Them cooking the food and providing it to you requires no tip.

  8. It really all depends on you, the tipper.  I usually tip a buck or two even if I'm using car side to-go.

  9. nothng nothing nothing !

    :)!

    have a nice day!

  10. For everyone's info, the people that do to go orders at chili's, Ruby's, Olive Garden, etc. get $3.50 an hour and make thir living off of the tips you are not giving them. They pack up everything and make sure you have everything so you don't have to do it yourself. You all should be ashamed of yourself. If you can't tip, drive thru. 20% for good service everytime!!!!

  11. Nothing at a chain like that.  At a small place, privately owned, I might tip 10%.  Like the Chinese place up the road.

  12. i usually gave 10% or $2 min for take out,

    and 20% for dine in.
