Question:

How much do you water a mimosa silk tree??

  1. You don't really have to water it unless your area is suffering a drought.

    Mimosa is O.K. with dryer soil, poor city conditions.

    Now if you are ,in drought conditions then this is what you do.

    Use a cat food can or something of similar size.

    Place it on the ground over the root system and set up a sprinkler.

    When the sprinkler has filled that can then you are fine for that week.

    Baring of course severe heat or wind.

    Now I live in the Northern part of the United States on the New Hampshire Massachusetts Border.

    I need to baby that tree with water in the early spring and summer, and heavy mulch in the winter.

    I am NOT worried about it being an invasive species, but if you live in warmer climate then please give some thought to what the other gentleman said in his answer!

    I have seen what Bittersweet, and Mile a minute weed can do to landscapes so be ware!
