How much do your earphones usually last?

In less than 7 months I have thrown away 2 sets. Do yours last longer or is this how they usually last?

Any idea on how to make them less likely to stop working? Mine seem always to get the cable loose near where it plugs in the mp4 and at first I have to hold the earphones in a certain direction to work then they stop working!

  1. Hi,

I haven't thrown out my earphones and I use my iPod at least 1 and a half hours a day. My iPod is secondhand so all together its at least 5months old and yet my earphones are almost in as new condition. Yours might suffer from over use, but I wouldn't know as I do not know how much you listen to your mp3/iPod.

  2. first  buy " A4tech " earphones at walmart  for  $14.99 CDN

i dont have  shares  in  a4techor wallmart but  they  sound  great and  theryre very well priced.  these  things do  wear  out.

then  take  some  scotch tape  and  loop the  wire  over  at the  plug  end and tape  it to  the plug  itself  so  that  any  pulling on  the  line will only  pull  the  plug  toward  the  ipod  not  pull it  away.

then  be careful  how you store them.  dont  tie them  up in  a  tight roll or try  to  reproduce the  exact way  they  came  in  the  box  because  the  extreme  bends  repeated  over  time  will wear them out

just  wrap them  loosely  around  the  unit .
