I have an Olympus FE-280 8.0 Megapixel camera. Right now, the card holds 1GB. How much is 1 GB on my camera? I'm going on a trip for 12 days, and plan on taking a lot of videos and pictures. Will this be enough?

  1. it depends on how big your making the pictures. Lets Put in scale of songs on an Mp3 player. if you have 2GB you can put 500 songs roughly on. if you have 1GB then you may only able to put 200 to 150 songs. So my guess it probably only 150 pictures comfortably if they were 5ish Mega Bytes each. I would get a bigger quanity of cards if you love taking lots of pictures.

    Have a nice vacation!

  2. I would say that a 1 Gig card on a 12 day trip is not nearly enough unless you're choosing the lowest quality to shoot at, but why would you want to do that? When you buy a memory card there should be a chart specifying how many pictures you can capture at what resolution. Maybe about 200-250 high quality jpgs without any video.

  3. If you're going to be taking a lot of pictures and videos, I honestly don't think that is enough, especially on an extended trip. I always carry at least 4GB.

My advice, buy a nice FAST 4GB card, and you'll thank me later. It stinks when you want to take a picture and can't because your card is full :(

  4. For a 12 day trip? Probably not.  Get atleast 2gb.
