  1. 4-H is WAAAY more than horses. As for the cost, membership fees vary with the club you join. I don't know if there is a fee to show your horse at the fair, but if there is it probably isn't much. 4-H does not provide the horses, but a lot of people I know who show horses at the county fair lease thiers. There is so much more you can do in 4-H that isn't related to animals as well. Check it out!

  2. it doesnt cost a lot. im pretty sure where i live its like 2 dollars for a book and then gas to drive to meeting and to shows. you have to bring your own horse to the shows but they provide stalls and i am pretty sure that you can lease a horse at my 4-h if the owner will let you

  3. wow, wierdness on the privew page!!

whats 4-H? lol but i imagine you could loan a pony to do it.

  4. the 4-H horse program i've seen you have to pay to compeat but to go to the meetings and events are free (unless its like to raise money show etc) you don't have to have your own horse, but you must have access to one that you can bring into meetings and clinics and shows. check for a horseless horse program in your 4h :) good luck!

  5. sometimes 4h is free it cost 10 per year in our county sometimes if you dont own a horse someone in your club or the 4h leader will let you barrow one

  6. Where I am from 4-H is free to participate.  Obviously you will incur expenses for gas, horse care, equipment etc.  4-H is much more than horses though check out 4-h.org to find out more.  You can lease a horse to participate in 4-H or start out in the horseless horse program.  Get green!

  7. Normally the only fees you'll really have the pay are a registration fee which will help pays for your manuals and such.

Most clubs also do presentations, little field trips and stuff in the year which sometimes you have to pay a few dollars for. Lot's of times you'll funraise to get money for things like that as well.

No you don't have to have your own horse. It's much funner and easier with a horse but if not that's fine! You can borrow somebody's horse to be your project hrose for 4H, or you can share horses with another 4H'er!

    :)
