How much does A&P Mechanic School cost?

how much does A&P Mechanic School cost? what will i end up having to pay for the school and what am i likely to make. i was in the US NAVY for 5 years. working on the flight deck. i work on the gear that shot the planes off and trap them when they laned

Hey man I go to National Aviation Academy in Clearwater.  It's about 20,000 for the A&P program which includes books and the FAA test fees.  It's a 14 month program.  You can expect all kind s of pay in the field.  I've seen entry level positions ranging from 18 to 25 an hour.  It really depends on where you get hired on at and what area of aviation you get into. I mean don't expect to be making big bucks in GA.  The money is in commercial and in avionics.  But it all boils down to the love of aviation.  If you don't love it then find something else that you do love.  Best of wishes to you. Might cost less than you think.  Check around some community colleges.  Sacramento City College, for example, as an A&P program, even it's own hangar at the nearby airport.
